Ramaphosa is an informal settlement (squatter camp) located near Germiston in the City of Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, South Africa. Named in a contentious manner referencing President Cyril Ramaphosa, this area is characterized by severe poverty, lack of basic services, and dense overcrowding.

OUR MISSION
Our pastor was told in a vision to watch over the settlement of Ramaphosa, its her God Sent Duty to fulfill this vision that was sent to her by the Almighty. We continue to this day praying and preaching to all the residents of Ramaphosa and the country as commanded by our Lord.
THE HARDSHIPS
Ramaphosa is riddled by poor living conditions in an ever growing population size within very limited space. Key details about the area and similar sites:
- Living Conditions: Residents live in crudely constructed shacks with little to no access to electricity, running water, or sanitation.
- Infrastructure Issues: The area suffers from poor living conditions, often facing issues with sewage pollution and a lack of proper refuse removal.
- Safety Hazards: The area is susceptible to safety risks, including shack fires due to the lack of formal electricity and illegal connections.
- Demographics: The population includes thousands of households, including many vulnerable children, often relying on informal work for survival.
- Location: While the main “Ramaphosa” settlement is near Germiston, other smaller sites with this name exist in areas like Rust-er-Vaal in the Emfuleni municipality.
- History: The area was often mentioned in reports during periods of tension (e.g., 2008), with some areas showing signs of violence and looting.

Similar to other informal settlements in South Africa, residents often face significant challenges with basic infrastructure development and service delivery.
